Artwork > Blueprints for a Desert Garden

Blueprints for a Desert Garden is a catharsis pertaining to my former career as an archaeologist and an exploration of the paradoxical nature of contemporary attitudes toward preservation. Having worked amidst several massive land development projects in the Phoenix Basin immediately preceding the economic decline of the early 2000's, I was lead to ponder the sustainability of human actions in a fragile environment and equally tenuous economy. The materials used to create the book further reflect upon issues of preservation as they pertain to photography and the role of analog technologies in the digital age.
